Thank You from Team Tallbike!

A short quick video to show our Thank You's to all of our supporters and sponsors.  Without you we could never have done this.  Thank you to friends and families that have donated.  A special thank you to 'strangers' who chose to remain anonymous in sponsoring me for this ride.  My biggest gratitude to you all.  Your support made a difference.  Your donations will make an impact.

Sincerely yours,
Eli

Ratanak International - Ride For Refuge 2013, Vancouver BC, Canada

This past October 5, 2013,  I, along with 400+ other cyclists in the suburb of Vancouver in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada, participated in a 50Km charity bike ride that supports 175+ charities who serve the displaced, vulnerable, and exploited. Specifically riding for Ratanak International who is passionate about empowering Cambodians through providing access to education, medical and social services and are focused on helping end child sex slavery. Myself, along with a team of friends, were excited to be able to participate in this ride. And, of course, 3 of us rode our Tallbikes!!

Having done this ride last year in torrential downpour Ride for Refuge 2012, it was an absolute joy that the weather cooperated this year and provided us with dry perfect riding conditions!  This has become a ride to look forward to, and this time around we have built a 3rd Tallbike and together much smiles, laughter and overall cheerfulness were had!

Lastly, I've created a video of the ride and here you will see how much fun everyone had!
You will not want to miss this video!!  :D

Cycling Across Canada for Charity

This past Monday I had the honour of spending a short time in the afternoon with two guys who are cycling across Canada for charity. Two kids I may add. Both 21 years old. They are both from Toronto area and have already cycled from TO to PEI on the first leg of their trip. From PEI they flew to Victoria and passed through here on Monday going on back to TO. I must say that I couldn't have been more envious of these 2 guys riding on the ultimate journey. Inspired isn't even enough of a word to describe how I felt. I wish I was out there with them right now.
Here is the website and blog of their adventure http://wearemadetogive.wordpress.com/2011/07/13/day-27/ The link is the blog post for their trip passing through the greater Vancouver area on to Mission. They've just passed through Penticton/Kelowna right now according to their blog and will probably be in Alberta in a few days.

I think I'm set. This will be my goal in the next few years or however long it takes me. Ride across the country before I am no longer able. It's time to pick up the training.
